Erick Marin is the General Counsel of Locust Point Capital. Mr. Marin serves as the senior legal officer for the firm and brings with him two decades of experience in the private equity industry. Prior to joining Locust Point Capital, Mr. Marin spent 17 years with H.I.G. Capital, a leading global alternative investment firm. During his tenure at H.I.G. Capital, Mr. Marin played a significant role in steering the legal and compliance function during a period of substantial growth, which saw the firm grow from approximately 150 employees and $3.5 billion in equity capital under management to over 1,000 employees and $64 billion of equity capital under management. Before his in-house role with H.I.G. Capital, Mr. Marin was an associate in the M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital Group of Akerman LLP, and he began his career in the Boston office of Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP. Mr. Marin holds a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, where he was an Executive Editor for the Annual Review of Banking and Financial Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Economy, cum laude, from Tulane University. Mr. Marin is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Florida.
